How many days will you be marching?
19 days
Why did you decide to participate
as a marcher?
I'm the type of person that
likes to make things happen, not watch them happen. Therefore, I decided
to participate as a marcher.
What do you hope to achieve by
participating in this march?
By participating in this
march I hope that I will become a part of the group of people to influence
the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the United States.
What are you doing to prepare for
the march?
With maintining a healthy
diet and regular exercise sessions, I am preparing myself for the march.
Do you have any relatives who were
Genocide survivors?
Yes, my grandfather survived
the Armenian Genocide.
If so, can you talk a little about
their experience?
My grandfather and one of
his sisters experienced the killing of their parents and remaining siblings
during the duration of the Genocide. To survive, they hid under dead bodies,
and eventually were able to run away.
Why do you think it is important
for the US to officially recognize the Armenian Genocide?
It is important to have the
United States recognize the Armenian Genocide because, first off, it has
a moral obligation to do as such. History proves the Armenian Genocide
as truth, and America must hold up to its high moral standards by recognizing
the truth. Furthermore, if the United States were to recognize the Armenian
Genocide, we would have a much higher chance of recieving the necessary
reperations from Turkey. This is so because The US is the strongest country
in the world with the most amount of influence.
